HPS Library
The HPS Library Mission Statement is:
"To support HPS's mission ("to work, in partnership with
others, to protect the Scottish public from being exposed to hazards which
damage their health and to limit any impact on health when such exposures cannot
be avoided") by ensuring access to all necessary information resources and
building an effective, shared knowledge base for the organisation and its
stakeholders."
HPS library primarily services the information needs of
staff through a wide-ranging collection of physical stock and on-line
resources. Moreover, the library is available as a reference resource to
external students and staff of NHS boards and environmental groups throughout
Scotland. However, HPS Library can not process borrowing and / or photocopy requests from external users.
The library is staffed from 9.30-12.00 and 14.00-16.30
Monday to Friday. External users should make an appointment (phone: 0141 300
1129 / 1419) before calling to use the collection.
HPS Library also provides current awareness services with
continuous scanning of journals, epidemiological reports and other media.
Current awareness bulletins are emailed both internally and to external
stakeholders (NSS.HPSlibrary@nhs.net
for further details). The contents of these bulletins are subsequently
accessible through the Library's Catalogue.
