02 Apr 2014 Publication of quarterly reports on Clostridium difficile infection and S.aureus bacteraemia

The quarterly report on the surveillance of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in Scotland, October to December 2013, was published in the HPS Weekly Report (2 April 2014) under the mandatory programme for surveillance of CDI in Scotland. This report provides CDI data for the fourth quarter of 2013 in 14 NHS boards and one NHS Special Health Board. Results in the age groups 15-64 and those aged 65 and over are included. These data are compared to previous quarters.

The quarterly report on the surveillance of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) bacteraemia in Scotland, October to December 2013 was published in the HPS Weekly Report (2 April 2014) under the mandatory programme for surveillance of S. aureus in Scotland. This includes data on both meticillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and meticillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) bacteraemias; these data are compared to previous quarters.
