Scottish Enhanced Respiratory Virus Infection Survelliance (SERVIS)

To monitor the extent and severity of influenza throughout the season to assist winter planning in the NHS and also to establish the virus subtypes in circulation to monitor the existence of novel virus forms to allow early intervention and plans to be initiated in the event of the emergence of a potentially pandemic strains of the virus.
