Due to low Influenza A H1N1v activity the Weekly Influenza Situation Reports are no longer being published. From now on HPS will produce a general Influenza Update Report every two weeks. Influenza A H1N1v activity will be monitored as part of the routine flu surveillance and is included in this report. However, should influenza activity increase again we will return to a weekly reporting schedule.
To view all news items relating to the Influenza A H1N1v situation please view the HPS News Archive.
If you could see flu germs, you'd see how quickly they spread.
Cold and flu germs can live on some surfaces for hours. Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel. This is the best way to help slow the spread of flu. Flu. Protect yourself and others.
