As part of the Enhanced Surveillance of COVID-19 in Scotland (ESoCiS) programme, we have developed a workstream to include COVID-19 testing in dental settings across Scotland. This programme concluded on 1 April 2021.
This workstream aims to contribute to improving our understanding of COVID-19 infection in the asymptomatic population in Scotland.
In a sample of dental clinics from all health boards, the dental clinical team will offer swab testing to patients attending for dental care. Asymptomatic testing of staff will also now be undertaken.
