This briefing provides background information on air pollution and its implications for public health in Scotland. It summarises the policy and strategy on air quality in Scotland.
It is intended primarily for the benefit of local agencies (local authorities and NHS boards) in responding to requests for information on air quality and its impact on health and life expectancy at local level.
