Reference laboratory referral guide for confirmation of exceptional organism/antimicrobial resistance profiles

​​​The Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) Reference Laboratory Referral Guide has been developed by us in conjunction with reference laboratories in the UK to provide guidance relating to the referral of isolates with exceptional resistance phenotypes, identified by diagnostic laboratories. 

The list of exceptionally resistant organisms within the document is linked to Appendix 13 (Table 6) of the Scottish National Infection Prevention & Control Manual (NIPCM)​.
